Position Objectives:

The City of Breezy Point is currently accepting applications for the position of Police Officer.  Breezy Point proudly serves a unique rapidly growing community located in the heart lake country.  Our central location allows extensive recreational opportunities for fishing, boating, hunting, biking, golfing, and more.  Breezy point Our officers enjoy unparalleled support from our community, City Council, and administration.  

The Breezy Point Police Department serves a population of approximately 2700 full-time residents within the 13 square miles of our city limits.  We are a progressive, full-service law enforcement agency with numerous opportunities for professional development and advanced training.  Special assignment opportunities include Field Training Officer, Instructor Assignments, TZD Enforcement, Drug Recognition Evaluator, Virtual Reality trainer, and others.  Additionally, we partner with the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office and other local agencies to provide additional opportunities such as Tactical Response Team (SWAT), Crisis Negotiations Team, and UAS (drone) Team.

The Breezy Point Police Department also operates a unique emergency medical response program.  Qualified EMTs and Paramedics participating in the program receive additional incentive pay.

2024 Pay Scale (Lateral-entry consideration possible)

Police Officer: $32.78 - 42.78

Police Officer/EMT: 34.47 – 44.47/hour

Police Officer/Paramedic: 36.85 – 48.08/hour

Minimum requirements: MN POST Board licensed or eligible by date of hire (2023 skills graduates are encouraged to apply); valid MN Class D driver’s license.  The hiring process will include an oral interview, background investigation, psychological screening, functional physical screening, and medical exam including drug screening.
